The Douay-Rheims Bible can be thought of as a Catholic KJV. It is a translation directly from the Vulgate (Latin). Having a different translation (current Bible is the New American Bible) will help me avoid getting hung up on particular words that may differ from one translation to the next, and generally be better able to discern the meaning of what is written. It is also beautifully written (at least it is after Bishop Challoner's revisions).

This is a cheaper alternative to a full blown NAS (Network Attached Storage). Basically it lets me have an external hard drive on the network (where all the computers at my house can get to it) instead of just attached to a single computer.

My supplier in Manhattan tells me this is the least expensive way to brew a good cup of coffee, and I trust him to know such things. If I end up going down this road, I may have to look into other equipment as well (electric kettle being first on the list, already have an ok grinder). This item is on amazon, but sells for like $30 more so I'd go ahead and use the link here (click the picture).

These things are great. I am always thinking "I'd love to buy <x> item|music" but just barely restrain myself. With these you can help me cave in :)

Hilarious.

A centralized and fully redundant network accessible storage solution, what's not to love? :)

AllRecipes.com pretty much rocks, and is where I turn for all of my "gee, I need to cook something and don't know what I feel like" needs.

Cookbooks are good. Cookbooks that let me make good food fast are great.

Cookbooks are good. Cookbooks dedicated to bulk recipes likely to feed me for a week? Priceless.

Seriously...why wouldn't I want one of these?
